Recurring Nightmare

A lot of my dreams center around elevators doing crazy things. I'm tipped off that something's up when the elevator suddenly veers sidewise, a la Willy Wonka, or keeps...going...up. So you're in a small, enclosed space and you have NO IDEA WHERE YOU'RE HEADED. And someone's probably behind all this and are you on your way to meet them? Or are they going to invade the elevator? Or are you suddenly going to plummet towards the earth (this happened once)?

There's always some sort of vague reference to hell, and the last time I had one of these dreams I was being chased by someone else in a similar elevator. The reception areas are unusually small (but with very high ceilings) and quiet. I do a lot of suave strolling through these reception areas acting like I know what the hell I'm doing.
